Basic Concept of Multi – Layer PCB

You know, the normal single – layer PCB just has one conductive layer on one side, and the double – layer PCB has it on both sides. But the multi – layer PCB takes it a step further.
It’s like a sandwich. You’ve got these alternating layers of conductive copper and insulating material, usually something like fiberglass – reinforced epoxy resin. These layers are stacked on top of each other and then bonded together using heat and pressure. The number of layers can vary a lot. You might see 4 – layer, 6 – layer, 8 – layer, or even more complex ones with 20 – 30 layers in high – end applications.
Structure of Multi – Layer PCB
The structure of a multi – layer PCB is pretty interesting. The outermost layers are where you typically place the components and do most of the visible wiring. You can solder your resistors, capacitors, and all those little electronic parts right onto these layers.
Then, as you go deeper into the sandwich, you’ve got inner layers. These inner layers play different roles. Some are used for power distribution.
